What could the WLFI app mean for WLFI holders?

World Liberty Financial has prepared its WLFI app for release as its token trades near USD 0.054, roughly 84% below its record high.

Summary
  • WLFI app is ready for release, but World Liberty Financial has not announced a date.
  • WLFI trades near USD 0.054, leaving the token roughly 84% below its record high.
  • World Liberty says holders can stake WLFI and earn potential USD1 rewards through governance participation.
  • USD1 payment integrations could expand app use, but holder benefits beyond governance remain unconfirmed.

CoinGecko shows WLFI trading near USD 0.05445 on Oct. 7, with a market capitalization of roughly USD 1.73 billion. The token had around 31.78 billion units circulating from a maximum supply of 100 billion. Its 24-hour trading volume stood near USD 29.4 million.

Co-founder and COO Zak Folkman said at Token2049 Singapore that preparations for the WLFI app were complete and the product was ready for release.

For WLFI holders, the confirmed information points to another access point for World Liberty Financial’s existing products. It does not yet establish that using the app will generate direct returns, revenue distributions or new economic rights for token owners.

WLFI app could bring several services into one product

World Liberty Financial currently describes the WLFI app as a product where customers can use crypto through a wallet or bank account and spend by accessing available liquidity. The same page still labels the application as “Coming Soon.”

The company’s product page already lists several services that could sit around the app. WLFI Markets lets users supply assets for potential rewards or borrow against collateral, while its bridge transfers WLFI and USD1 between supported networks. A crypto conversion feature is separately listed as coming soon.

World Liberty has not published a final list of app functions, supported jurisdictions or public launch date. Folkman’s Token2049 statement therefore confirms the project’s development stage without confirming which services will be available to users on day one.

The current website identifies WLFI as the ecosystem’s governance token. Holders can propose, review and vote on decisions concerning the platform, while the token operates across Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain and Solana.

Those existing functions give holders a defined role before the app arrives. No official announcement reviewed for this report says simply holding WLFI will provide exclusive app access, fee rebates or a share of revenue generated through the application.

WLFI holders have gained a separate staking route

World Liberty Financial has been developing another use for WLFI through governance staking.

Its current website says holders can stake WLFI for potential USD1 rewards and participate in governance proposals. The wording describes the payments as potential rewards instead of guaranteed returns.

A governance engagement proposal published in September states that participating holders would lock WLFI in a non-custodial governance protocol for at least 180 days. Users must vote directly to meet participation requirements, while delegated votes do not count toward eligibility under the proposed program.

The document says smart contracts would process locking, voting and withdrawals without World Liberty taking custody of a participant’s WLFI. It further states that WLFI remains a governance utility token and does not give holders an ownership stake or economic rights in World Liberty Financial.

An earlier February proposal outlined a 180-day minimum lock period and targeted rewards for active governance participation. Under that proposal, users needed to participate in at least two votes during the lock period to qualify for base staking rewards.

The app announcement has not changed those published staking terms. World Liberty has not said that downloading or using the WLFI app will automatically qualify holders for staking rewards.

USD1 payments could become a major part of the app

World Liberty Financial is building payment infrastructure around USD1 alongside its work on WLFI.

The company’s website lists AgentPay, an SDK designed to let artificial intelligence agents hold funds and make cross-chain payments under user-set controls. Its example policies include transaction limits, daily spending caps and manual approval requirements.

World Liberty has pursued conventional payment access as well. In February, Reuters reported that Folkman announced World Swap, a planned foreign-exchange and remittance platform intended to connect with bank accounts and debit cards.

The company presented the service as a way to lower remittance and foreign-exchange costs. Such savings remain a company claim until the product is operating at enough scale for outside transaction data to verify its pricing.

USD1 and WLFI have already been linked through previous reward programs. In earlier crypto.news coverage, World Liberty distributed 47 USD1 to wallets that had participated in its WLFI presale in June 2025. The distribution followed a governance process involving WLFI holders.

Before the distribution, crypto.news reported on theWLFI governance vote that approved the USD1 test airdrop with 99.96% support. The proposal was designed to test the project’s on-chain airdrop system.

A later rewards program moved value in the opposite direction. As crypto.news previously reported, World Liberty allocated 8.4 million WLFI tokens to early USD1 users across selected exchanges in October 2025.

Binance followed with another WLFI distribution in January 2026. In related crypto.news coverage, the exchange allocated USD 40 million in WLFI rewards to eligible users holding USD1 during a four-week campaign.

WLFI price remains close to its historical low

The app news has arrived while WLFI remains far below the price reached soon after public trading began.

CoinGecko records an all-time high of USD 0.3313 and an all-time low of USD 0.04828. At roughly USD 0.05445 on Oct. 7, WLFI remained 83.6% below its peak and 12.8% above the record low. Its seven-day performance was down around 3%.

The market tracker placed WLFI at No. 60 by market capitalization and calculated its fully diluted valuation near USD 5.45 billion. Its 24-hour trading range ran between approximately USD 0.05441 and USD 0.05694.

WLFI’s daily chart remains bearish, but momentum has started to improve. RSI sits near 39.2, still below the neutral 50 level but above oversold territory.

MACD shows an early bullish crossover, with the MACD line near -0.00210 above the signal line around -0.00255. Both remain below zero, so the setup does not yet confirm a full trend reversal.

Those figures do not establish a causal link between the app announcement and WLFI’s market price. No verified trading data reviewed for this report shows that traders have priced a specific value into the token based on the application’s release.

U.S. trust bank plan remains under conditions

World Liberty’s product rollout is taking place while a related entity works through the U.S. banking charter process.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency granted World Liberty Trust Company preliminary conditional approval for a national trust bank charter on Aug. 14. The decision covers a proposed national trust bank based in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida.

The OCC document says the proposed bank’s activities include dollar-backed stablecoin issuance and redemption, reserve maintenance and digital-asset custody. Conversion services for custody customers form another part of the proposed operation.

The approval is not permission to begin banking operations. The OCC explicitly states that final approval will not be granted until all pre-opening requirements are satisfied, while the regulator retains the power to modify, suspend or rescind its preliminary decision.

World Liberty’s public app page, meanwhile, continues to display the WLFI application as “Coming Soon,” leaving the public release date as the next product detail still awaiting confirmation.
