Securitize adds Stellar blockchain as institutional tokenization gathers steam
- Tokenization platform Securitize added Stellar to the list of blockchains it supports, which includes Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche.
- Securitize said Stellar is known for being a fast and scalable blockchain, where decentralized assets can be configured for know-your-customer, clawbacks and sanctions compliance.
- Franklin Templeton runs a tokenized money market fund on Stellar, and MoneyGram moves money across it daily.
Securitize (SECZ), which converts real-world assets such as equity and debt into tokens that can be traded like cryptocurrencies, said it added Stellar to its list of supported blockchains.
The company already works closely with Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche and is known for issuing and managing BlackRock’s BUIDL tokenized money-market fund.
Tokenization, the process of bringing assets onto a blockchain, has been generating headlines in recent months, with a growing number of companies saying they’re offering, or planning to offer, versions of shares, bonds and commodities that can be traded around the clock with few, if any, geographic restrictions.
Stellar is known for being a fast and scalable blockchain, where decentralized assets can be configured for customer identification (KYC), clawbacks and sanctions compliance, the firms said at Meridian 2026, the Stellar Development Foundation’s annual conference in Lisbon. Franklin Templeton runs a tokenized money market fund on Stellar, and MoneyGram moves money across it daily.
“The Stellar network has built the fourth-largest ecosystem for tokenized real-world assets, which speaks to the strength of its network and the growing institutional demand for tokenization,” said Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo in a statement.
