Solana ETF Inflows Surge 70x to Best Week Since May, But There’s a Catch

Solana (SOL) spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) drew $10.26 million in the week ending August 14, according to SoSoValue. That total ran roughly 70 times the prior week’s roughly $144,930.

The intake marks the strongest week since May 22. Two funds produced almost all of it across two sessions.

Bitwise and Morgan Stanley Took the Entire Week

Bitwise’s Solana ETF (BSOL) attracted $8.8 million on August 10, accounting for the bulk of the week’s inflows. It was also the fund’s largest single-day inflow since May 12, according to SoSoValue data.

Morgan Stanley’s Solana Trust (MSOL) followed with $1.43 million in inflows on August 11. Together, the two funds accounted for virtually the entire $10.26 million weekly total.

VanEck, Fidelity, 21Shares, Franklin Templeton, and Grayscale, meanwhile, recorded zero net flows throughout the week. This left the weekly rebound concentrated in just two funds and two trading sessions.

Overall, Solana ETFs have now recorded net inflows for seven consecutive weeks, bringing total inflows over that period to $28.05 million. The funds ended the week with $893.5 million in net assets, while cumulative inflows since launch reached $1.16 billion.

Despite the renewed ETF demand, SOL price action remained subdued. The token traded fell 1.18%, leaving the latest ETF inflows largely disconnected from its performance. SOL was trading at $75.51 at press time.

Trading activity also weakened. Combined weekly turnover across the Solana ETFs fell to $159.7 million from $167.3 million the previous week, suggesting that trading interest remained muted even as net capital flows improved.

Bitcoin and Ethereum Funds Moved the Other Way

Meanwhile, Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs shed $389.7 million after adding $853.5 million the previous week. Trading activity thinned alongside the redemptions.

Weekly turnover in Bitcoin funds dropped to $6.94 billion, the lowest reading since September 2024. Ethereum (ETH) products finished close to flat, losing $2.26 million. That followed $244.9 million of inflows the previous week.

Smaller altcoin funds held their ground. XRP (XRP) ETFs added $2.25 million for a fifth consecutive positive week, while Hyperliquid (HYPE) products took in $2.74 million.

Whether Solana flows continue may hinge on the Agave v4.2 upgrade, set for mainnet activation the week of August 17.
