Mark Zuckerberg Brings $1,299 Meta VR Glasses and a Muse Keychain to Connect 2026
Meta Platforms (META) unveiled Meta VR Glasses, priced at $1,299.99, at its Connect 2026 event. The company also previewed Muse Charm, a keychain device for its Muse artificial intelligence (AI) agent.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg called it the company’s first attempt at delivering virtual reality (VR) in glasses rather than a full headset. The lineup also includes camera-free audio glasses and a third-generation Ray-Ban Meta.
Meta VR Glasses Shrink a Headset to 100 Grams
The glasses weigh about 100 grams, according to Meta. A cable links the frames to a compute puck that clips onto a pocket or bag. As a result, the puck handles processing while the frames stay light.
Meta pitches the device as a private cinema, a multi-monitor workstation, and a game console. Users control it with voice, eye tracking, and hand gestures instead of controllers. However, battery life tops out at roughly three hours of media playback. The glasses ship in spring 2027.

The launch follows a rocky year for Meta’s VR business. In March, Meta reversed its Horizon Worlds VR shutdown on Quest one day after announcing it. Meanwhile, Snapchat parent Snap saw its shares fall nearly 10% in June after it revealed $2,195 augmented reality glasses.

Muse Charm Puts an AI Agent on Your Keychain
Zuckerberg saved Muse Charm for the end of the event. Meta released the Muse AI agent on September 8. The agent handles tasks such as booking appointments and sending emails, and it runs on the Muse Spark model family.
Meta has built only a handful of Charm prototypes so far, according to Engadget. Still, the company plans to ship it in December and has not disclosed a price.

Ray-Ban Meta Audio, a new line of frames, drops the camera entirely. The 43-gram frames start at $349 and offer up to 12 hours of battery life, Meta says. They ship on October 13.
Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3, meanwhile, starts at $449 and adds a six-microphone array and Aviator styles. Meta also launched a collaboration with Blackpink singer Lisa and an ivory version of its Kylie Jenner edition.
The lineup ties Meta’s hardware ambitions closely to Muse. Meta VR Glasses do not ship until spring 2027. Until then, the Charm’s December debut could test whether buyers want a dedicated device for the agent.
