Does Sydney Sweeney Own XRP? Cardano Boss Just Spilled the Tea

Crypto Twitter erupted on October 14 after Ripple’s David Schwartz posted a selfie with the wrong billboard, tying XRP to a Hollywood star. The joke spread fast and drew in two of crypto’s most recognizable voices.

Behind the laughs lies a more serious question: how mainstream finance frames XRP.

How a Wrong Billboard Went Viral

On October 14, Schwartz posted a selfie captioned “Oops, wrong billboard.” Behind him stood an advertisement featuring Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney, promoting Novig, a sports prediction marketplace. The mismatch was enough to start the joke.

Sweeney is best known for her roles in “Euphoria” and “Anyone But You”, which gave the meme an easy cultural hook. Ads featuring well-known actors often draw attention far beyond their target audience, and crypto users quickly turned that attention into commentary.

The photo triggered a flood of replies from XRP supporters and critics alike. Schwartz then posted a second photo, captioned “Got it this time,” which extended the joke.

I knew she had XRP

— Charles Hoskinson (@IOHK_Charles) October 14, 2026

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, spotting the original photo, fired back: “I knew she had XRP.”

The short reply spread within hours, and users shared memes and playful theories about Sweeney holding XRP. Because the line needed no context to land, it traveled quickly across feeds.

Is Sydney Sweeney Secretly Holding XRP?

No evidence suggests Sweeney holds XRP. The entire episode remains light-hearted speculation sparked by a wrong billboard.

The joke also arrives as women gain ground in US crypto. The “2026 State of Crypto Holders Report,” published in May 2026 by the National Cryptocurrency Association and The Harris Poll, shows the shift.

Women account for 42% of new US crypto holders who entered between 2025 and 2026. Among holders who started before 2025, the share was 34%. Female ownership rose 10% year over year.

The report does not measure whether celebrity mentions influence those numbers. Still, the trend suggests a broader audience is entering the market.

The crossover between a Hollywood star and two of crypto’s biggest names proved irresistible to online audiences.

Still, in a space that thrives on narrative, memes can shape attention quickly. Whether this one signals anything about XRP’s market story remains unclear.
